How do I create a puppet nation?

I've tried logging out of my first nation, and selecting [create a nation]. I can fill in all the fields on the first page, but when I select Continue, I'm taken back to the front page.

What am i doing wrong?

You could be putting extra spaces before or after the new nation's name. A javascript is supposed to pop up informing you when you do that, but for some reason it's broken and just takes you back to the main NS page. Try just typing in your nation name with no spaces before or after and see if that works.

In addition to what Czardas said, it can also do that now when the name is already taken. Make sure to click the "check name" link before you try to hit continue.

If so then I'd suspect that none of the javascripts are working and it'll also happen if you forget to fill out one of the fields... just a minute.

EDIT: Indeed, that appears to be the case.

I had checked the name against current states - but it seems that there was a former state using the name.
