Help!

I've tried to apply to the UN 4 or 5 times now. I get the telegram at nationstates but I never get the mentioned "email" with the "link" to click for verification. I have already tried different email accounts as suggested by the telegram (hence the trying 4 or 5 times to get in). This is pretty frustrating :headbang: I'm not sure what else to try!

Got AOL? (Common for blocking UN E-Mails)

(As far as I know, there were 2 Verizon cases, so that might be another suspect)

Sometimes people block e-mails before they reach you. They won't show up in a Spam forum either. Try setting up a Hotmail account, just to join the UN, or something like that...

I do not have AOL. I use a local internet provider but currently have all spam filters turned off, so there should be no problem. I have also tried my hotmail account, which others have told me should work fine. School does not allow the use of yahoo or I'd try my account there (I'm a teacher trying to get this set up to use in my Geography class)

At any rate, neither account has ever recieved the email that has the link and the telegram does not provide any help in what to do after you have already tried several email addresses with no luck! ARGH!

Is there somone I can email or post to about this? I was truly hoping to use this site in a classroom setting this quarter but I can't do so until I gain UN membership for various reasons as far as lesson plan objectives go.:headbang:

Ok:

1) :headbang: is really annoying.
2) "e-mail" to the mods can be done through the getting help page: http://www.nationstates.net/

For future reference, that page is linked from the FAQ
3) I think there's also something about being able to set up classroom regions to deal with potential issues of UN Multiing and such - but I don't know the details (or the advantages/disadvantages of being designated a classroom)

My humble apologies for the annoying part...needless to say the icon expressed my frustration over the last two weeks of trying to sort this out so that I could use it in my classroom (the class started last week and I had hoped to be set up with the site so as to introduce it this week, so that the kids would have 7 weeks of issues to work with.) It was actually a student of mine that directed me to the site in the first place, so I think it could be and interesting/fun way to research/discuss global issues and also see somewhat how government decisions affect different aspects of citizens lives.

I'm usually pretty good about figuring out what to do and/or finding FAQs that help so that I don't have to be the annoying one asking questions already answered but it' s a large site to navigate between forums and FAQs. Posting here really was my last ditch effort to figure it all out, but certainly not my intention to step on toes, offend, or annoy anyone.

I looked up the info about setting up classroom regions...in order to do so, as I understood what I read, you must be a member of the UN...Hence much of the source of my frustration. I shall try your suggestions though and see if they work. Thank's for the feedback!

Class regions should be set up with school-provided email addresses. That's part of how we confirm that you're a teacher, and not just someone who wants to create a ton of UN nations without being labelled a cheater. Even if you get in to the UN with a Hotmail or Yahoo account, we probably wouldn't give you class region status unless we could track that account to an official school website listing that as your contact info.

Tell ya what. I'll send you a Gmail invitation (they almost always work), and you can file a Getting Help request pointing me to three things:

The gmail account you made
The school email account you originally wanted to use
Said official website that shows your name, the school, and that original email as your contact info.

If I've got those three pieces of info in hand, you'll have your class region. Fair enough?
