Take a flat map of the entire world and erase all the current national borders and nations from it. Then, using a terrain map, draw new borders using rivers, mountains, lakes, seas, and other natural boundaries (or as you see fit) to create "super-regions" (this is the best name for these I can come up with at the moment, please do create a different, more interesting name for these). Then, each region will vote on which "super-region" it would like to reside in. Then this new map is displayed on the site and allows a more "visual" way of seeing where nations are and make the game a little more appealing. There won't be a limit to how many regions can join a "super-region," and the location of a region in a "super-region" won't be displayed or even decided on, that way, borders within a "super-region" don't have to be redrawn every time a new nation or region joins a "super-region."
As for the names of each "super-region," they should be decided on by the game developers themselves (or himself, I'm not sure how many people work on this.) Another possibility is the naming should be done by the UN, with approval of all nations in that "super-region" of course, but this could have serious problems. The UN and "super-region" may decide on a ridiculous name or an offensive one that not everyone will like, which will create endless, pointless debate. Then there is the issue of voting. Should each region vote within itself then it's choice equals a single vote, or should each nation get a single vote that's tallied together? (think of the United States' House of Representatives and Senate) On top of that, regions may switch "super-regions" to affect the vote and switch back to their own when the voting is done, adding to more problems and more programming to try to fix this problem. So, I would suggest that the game developer choose each "super-region's" name before this feature would be included to prevent a serious, worldwide headache that Advil or Tylenol could never relieve. :headbang:
Essentially, this suggestion would be entirely for looks and bragging, but would bring more people to the game or make current players participate more because now they can see their nation and where it appears in the world. And it gives us visual learners something to drool at.
