Trade Amongst Region Members

I have no idea where to post this idea, but I was hoping this post would catch a few eyes. I want to suggest some sort of petition (if it's even neccessary) to try to get the NationStates "manager" to find some way to adopt a trade function between nations of the same region. I would like to start political and social interaction between the members (friends) of my group. The only way I can think of doing something like this would be to start issuing questions about natural resources and international opinion and somehow have names of other countries in your region pasted into a generic profile. I have no idea where I'm going with that last thought, but anyway,... I would like interaction between nations within a region. Please.

Not going to happen. You will have to wait for NS2. If it ever happens. Read the faqs, because I am sure there is something in them somewhere about not bothering to suggest game changes.

Technical
Bug reports, general help, ideas for improvements, and questions about how things are meant to work.
It's right there on the main page of the forums. Can't miss it.

Find a site (such as 'invision') that will let you set-up a regional forum outside of NS itself, and get a link to this included in your region's 'World Factbook' entry: Then interact there...

A suggestion might to set up an Invision for your forum. Then go the Invision Support forum, and use some of their RPG hacks (changing 'Orcs' or 'doe-eyed anime princesses' into 'coal' and 'steel') for a trade system.

I must say no due to the fact that in RP you can be at war with nations in your region.

In one sense, you can't. NationStates doesn't include these things -- because it's a simple game, and because they would bias things in favor of militaristic and capitalist nations. One of the nice things about NationStates is that you can craft a nation into your idea of Utopia without having to worry about such pragmatic concerns as national defence.

Into the breach, however, steps the NationStates community, which has independently devised an entire system covering war, trade, and just about anything else you can think of. This takes place entirely on the forums (mostly in International Incidents), and is role-played.

Many people have asked about the possibility of a more sophisticated version of NationStates, with trade, military conflicts, and more. This does sound cool, but I haven't decided yet if I want to do that. It would be a lot of work, and I'd have to charge people to play it. But it's possible.
Translation: Coded trade will never happen in NationStates. When/If NationStates2 goes live, it will have these functions. Until then, it's all either roleplay, or whatever outside program you find/code yourself.

Poll closed because a petition would have no effect even if it was done.
