My computer borked, I lost all my saved passwords (and saved emails with passwords in them) and now I can't log into nationstates. I've done the 'lost password' thing a million times, it says 'ok, password reset sent' and it never arrives. I've checked my spam folder, it's not there, the reset password email just isn't making it to my account. I realize it's asking a lot, but would it be possible for someone to manually send the password reset to the email on my account? maybe from a different email addy than is typically used? The password associated with the account hasn't been changed since the account was created, so I'm not someone trying to steal someone's nation. And my nation is all newb and sucking anyway, so no one would want to steal it! please please please help!

Got AOL? If so, get a new e-mail account. It's a common problem. UN e-mails, fourm e-mails etc. blocked by AOL. It's not even in the spam folder. Deleted before it gets to you. Good luck trying to get a new password.

Nope, verizon. I called the techs, they swore up and down that they don't block any emails, that the worst they do is put it into the spam folder, and when I was pushy and made them check, they said they weren't showing any incoming email from the domain nationstates.net that was getting bounced or anything.
And the forum emails come in just fine.

Got AOL? If so, get a new e-mail account. This wouldn't solve anything as the e-mails would still go to the old account. Also, AOL blocks them server-side, before they even get to your personal spam filter.

Seriously. My brother did tech support for Verizon, and the number of things they aren't allowed to tell customers, and the way they're told to treat customers is just stunning. Verizon focuses all their tech support to cellular and treat their internet customers like crap. I'd even go so far to say that Verizon is worse than AOL. If I was you, I'd switch providers if at all possible.

And the forum emails come in just fine.Well, the NS emails come from a different domain than Jolt's.

The problem we're likely running into is that every time you do the lost password deal, a new password is generated and then sent to you, so unless you get the most recent e-mail, you'll have the wrong password anyway. It may be possible to fix this manually, but I'd want an Admin to weigh in first. If Sal doesn't post here in a day or so, I'll track him down on IRC and ask.

Yeah, I know. I should have bolded they SAID. :) Once I can log back in, I fully intend to change my associated email. I just, I'd gotten the signup emails ok, so I didn't realize there might be a problem down the road. But, I do so love their 3.0/768 for $30 a month, and in the near future will love the 15/2 fiber for $45 a month even more. And their nttp server is wicked good. I just try to avoid dealing with tech support, but I wanted to be able to say before I posted here asking for help that I had in fact poked the ISP techs.

Ah, so the very first time I clicked that lost password link, trying to remember my old password became useless. I should have realized that. I was thinking it was the kind of thing where a reset link is emailed, but it's not actually reset til you click the link. I blame my hair! (I'm blonde. :) )
Thanks for poking this Sal admin person! And thanks in advance to Sal for whatever he can do, or try to do, regardless of whether it works out, the effort will be appreciated.
