Can't log into forums from main site...

I cannot log into the forums from the main site. Over the past two hours I've gotten the same "Technical difficulties" page every time. The only thing that saved me was my vanity, because I bookmarked my spot in the archives, and used that to get onto the forums. This really needs to be looked into.

That's a standard vBulletin error message. I get it sometimes as well. I believe it happens not when site traffic gets too much, but when there is an actual technical problem with the forums themselves, or when they are down for whatever reason. It can find the site but can't find the page and you get that.

It usually works itself out after a little while, or at least it does at all forums I've ever been to that that's happened to me at. Really, you found a way around it which is good. It will probably be gone in an hour or two. If not, then the problem really does need to be looked into. It's probably a good idea to look into it anyway, this is just my somewhat-educated opinion. I've had some non-coding experience with vB before, and this is what I usually find.

It also happens when the database itself is down for some reason, which obviously isn't the case because the forums are still up.

I had the same problem... NS mods told me to try putting in http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1235 and then I had to use the account I had to create specificly for this site last time NS had jolt issues... unfortunately I don't feel like doin this every time... it'd be nice if this could be fixed for people like us (we seem to be in the minority... everyone I asked told me it's workin fine for them...) so we don't have to go through this hassle all the time...

Well it's never worked like this before. Previously I've seen the notice, however never in the manner I'm seeing it now.

I've been having the same problem for the last couple of hours. I finally got on my neighbor's machine and was able to get this thread and put in the link and sign in. This info really needs to go up on the "known problems page, as the link there gets the error message.
