Simple Question

I've just discovered Nation Sates and have a really simple question:

Do the decisions made by the UN actually effect anything (providing you're a member obviously).

e.g. I saw that there was a mandate for gay marriage. Does this actually have any effect on each nation or is it just something that is now accepted.

Don't quote me on this, but I am pretty sure that yes, the UN resolutions affect parts of your nation like economic ratings and such.

You can quote me.

UN resolutions do effect the member nations in ways specific to the resolution itself.

UN resolutions do effect the member nations in ways specific to the resolution itself.
Or rather the resolution's category.

Or rather the resolution's category.

...which is specific to the resolution itself...

How you RP the subtlties of the laws beyond 'my economy has gone up' or 'my civil rights have gone down' is up to you.
