Duality Bug?

Here are two versions of the opening paragraph for my nation that appear. One requires a specific series of actions, and the other is my actual nation, if viewed directly:

The United Socialist States of Theoretics is a small, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 10 million are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The United Socialist States of Theoretics is a small, socially progressive nation, renowned for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 10 million are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The second quote is my nation. To get the first quote, I must enter the forum, go into a thread, return to the forum through the link at the top, and then view my nation using the banner at the top.

I don't know why this would show up. Perhaps if I had taken the complete deforestation route instead of the moderate, highly limitted and regulated mining route in a recent issue, then the bugged version is what would have come up?

In any case, my nation has been renowned for its complete lack of prisons since day one, and we have never done anything that would lead to a totally barren and inhospitable landscape.

I'm not sure if it's possible for others to see the bugged version (I don't have, and won't make, a second account to check with), but it's still bothersome because each time I see this, I panic a little. "What did I do against the environment? Oh crap, and I've explicitly acted to do the opposite non stop! What the heck?" is usually the inner monologue, and then, "Oh yeah... It's that bug."

Anyway, I hope this is helpful in maintaining NS if nothing else :)

It's a pretty strange bug, and I'm not sure if there's a simpler way to recreate it. I certainly hope that the UN doesn't see that bugged version!

edit: Apparently there are three parallel universes with my nation!

The United Socialist States of Theoretics is a small, safe nation, notable for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 10 million are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

This is what the external link shows. This fits my nation, as well, but that barren, inhospitable landscape bit could not be further from the mark, unless there's some way that limitting mining and not engaging in deforestation somehow leads to trees vanishing. If that's the case, then perhaps cutting trees down would lead to lush forests? /boggle

Can you say "random phrase selection"?

Can you say "random phrase selection"?

It's not random though, and one is inaccurate. The same phrases come up by looking at my nation through the same methods every single time, since yesterday.

I've only made one environmental decision. It gave me the option to completely clear forestry or to make mild inroads into the forest. I took the mild inroads. Unless both decisions do the same thing, something is wrong here.

Honestly. You don't think I hadn't thought of that. Seriously now. Don't assume every random stranger on the internet is a moron. That would make you the only intelligent person on the planet. Isn't that a little bit insane to be telling yourself?

edit: I'm being a little smart, but I mean it jokingly. Seriously though, this does not look right at all, not even if what you suggest were the case.

It is random. Keep refreshing and you'll see it change.

Your environment isn't only affected by clearly "environmental" issues. The growth of certain industries in particular are detrimental to your env. It's possible to damange your env simply by being pro-business.

Interesting. I've been refreshing for a minute now. You know, mathematicians say that it's actually possible to flip a coin and have it land on heads an infinite number of times. I guess I'm just seeing unlikely odds here.

Now, why can't that happen with the lottery?
