Can't Upload A Flag

Dear NS Moderators,

I have a currently uploaded flag on file for my nation. However, when I try to upload a new one, it reverts to my old flag. I refresh my browser, but my old flag still shows up. When I change my flag to a standard (national) flag using the drop-down menu, it changes, and then when I attempt (again) to upload my new flag, it reverts back to my old uploaded flag. What can I do to overwrite the old file?

Have you tried dumping the cache? Ctrl-refresh forces a cache dump of the viewed page (or so I've been told).

Sorry, it doesn't work.

Upload the flag and weight twenty-four hours. It might be uploading times in the cache of the NS database; if such a thing exists on an Apache Mysql server. Regardless, give it twenty-four hours unless the mods give you a different response.

Is the flag you want an iron cross in the upper left, a triskellion in the center and a dollar sign in the lower right?

Uh... yeah. That's a really good guess. Congrats.

I guess it just hasn't shown yet in my browser.

to view this, you must delete your cashe files. if you have IE, hit tools internet options, and delete it in there.

It just took some hours for my browser to update. Thanks for the help.

Internet Explorer seems particularly resistant to refreshing images. Just refreshing the page isn't enough: you seem to need to load only that image, then refresh. So if you right-click your flag, select properties, make a note of the URL, type that in (which will be ...nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/yournation.jpg), see the flag, then press F5, it should change.

With Firefox just refreshing the frame (or page) seems to work.

Not on my system; refreshing the page doesn't work. You need to manually clear the cache (Ctrl+Shift+D).

I use Firefox, actually, but thanks for the advice.
