No-founder Regions

I've noted some player-created regions which have no founder any longer, like Canada, Japanada and NationStates; what happened to them??

BTW, this seems to be a good place to ask, how to create a warzone??

Founders were added to the game sometime in 2003, IIRC. Regions that hve stayed in continuous existence since then are sometimes founderless. There was a period when mods would appoint founders on request, but those days are gone.

You don't create a warzone. All warzones in existence were created by the admins. They are Official Game Regions, just like the five Pacifics, the Rejected Realms, and Lazarus.

then, it's legal to recruit there??

I believe it's legal to recruit in warzones... not too sure though, so don't try it until a mod comes in to confirm or deny me.

It's legal to spam warzone Civil Headquarters, so you can recruit there. Don't know about telegramming, though.

Incidentally, the News post announcing Founder creation can be found here (http://www.nationstates.net/news/2003/04/29/index.html#regional_control). Any thread in this forum about it, however, is lost to the purges of the Third Age.

that's exactly why I need mods to post here.

BTW, you would be a good mod...

Then why post in Technical? Recruitment is a rules question, surely. I think the rules are clear, but if you're unsure, I'd suggest checking in Moderation.

actually, the subject was other. it was about technical aspects of the game. then a mod answered and I asked another relative thing...

Actually, there are game-created warzones and player-created warzones. The second group really shouldn't be allowed to exist, but we haven't gotten around to doing anything about them yet, to my knowledge. There's a list of official Warzones around somewhere. I think it's in the Gameplay sticky. I'll let someone else do the legwork.

You could conceivably recruit in game-created Warzone, but I can't imagine the point of it. Nobody is there at random. Warzones tend to attract established invaders and defenders who already have strong regional affiliations, and temporary 'lurkers' (like a few of my own puppets) have a tendency to be ejected by one or the other of the competing factions. Who could possibly read it that would act on it?

You have a good point here. I wouldn't recruit in a warzone, it was just a doubt that passed in my mind.

I just asked about creating warzones because the NSwiki page on this thing says you can create a warzone, what I always thought that was impossible. I decided to ask here to clear my doubts

And I know I'm doing this again (i'm so sorry), but you are the best forum mods I always found in the NET. Any other mods would close this topic for going too much off-topic. However, you can close this topic if you want (mod honor, right??), my questions were answered and I thank you all...

When they were first created, a couple players made their own for... well... I'm not exactly sure why. We went through, stripped the Founders and turned them into official Warzones. Short of having a region seized, there's no mechanic for a player to make a real Warzone (note: The name isn't enough, there's special coding behind Warzones, and they don't operate like normal regions).
