Hi, I have a few questions to this game.

First, in my nation, could I call an election?

How can one get involved in International Incidents, and can one be a peacekeeper?

How can someone build up their economy?

Thanks!

These probably aren't all questions for the Tech forum.

1. You can call an election whenever you want...in roleplay terms. There is no game mechanism for this (hence you can be a democracy, a dictatorship, an anarchy...whatever). There are periodically election threads in NS or II.

2. To get involved in II, you simply start RPing. Common ideas to start are to write a factbook, a guide to which can be found here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/member.php?u=149560), or to create an embassy exchange programme. You could simply announce you are looking for allies.

The NSUN has no peacekeeping force. However, some players do RP peacekeeping: recently, Listeneisse and SLI Sector did so. They created a sign-up thread here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=449442). Peacekeeping is an RPed undertaking entirely separate from the NSUN, and it is assumed most UN members do not recognise the peacekeepers are having any authority (which they don't).

3. Vote for pro-economy decisions on issues. So favour industry over the environment, employers' rights over employees' rights, and so on. These will generally increase your economic power.

A good intro thread to get into NS would be Euroslavia's Guide To NationStates (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=357975).

Let me translate this into real terms. Options to vote on for issues:

Option #2 of "Child Casino Shock"
Option #3 of "Reclaim the Streets!"
Option #2 of "Outsourcing an Outrage, Claim Demonstrators"
Option #2 of that issue about telemarketers and door-to-door salesmen
Option #1 of "Women Demand Equal Opportunities"
Option #2 of the issue on mobile phones
Option #2 of "@@MAJORINDUSTRY@@ Workers Strike!"

Hope this helps.

As the NationStates issues thread contains a Spoiler Alert tag in the title, I usually refrain from specifying issues unless asked to do so. If they want a good economy, they can get one.

EDIT: Re: title. Heh.
