How come changing the thread title doesnt actually change the title that appears in the list of threads?

You'd have to ask Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. as they're the ones who released this version of vBulletin. But, yes, I'm sure it was just to make life difficult for players. After all, nothing says "funny" like more work for the Mods.

A quick point: if you're quick, you can change topic titles. I tried to time it in Spam, but it wasn't too scientific. Seemingly, though, if you edit your post within a minute or so, you can change the thread title. I assume that is related to the fact that if you edit your post immediately after submitting, no 'Edited by...' line appears.
