My friend is getting this trying to log-on:

vBulletin datastore error caused by one or more of the following:
You may have uploaded vBulletin 3.5 files without also running the vBulletin 3.5 upgrade script. If you have not run the upgrade script, do so now.
The datastore cache may have been corrupted. Run Rebuild Bitfields from tools.php, which you can upload from the do_not_upload folder of the vBulletin package.

Fatal error: vBulletin datastore cache incomplete or corrupt in /includes/init.php on line 170

I told him to go to Google & search and then go into the forums, same thing. I also told him to clean his cache. Same thing.

I got the same error using Netscape, but was able to log on with Firefox.

He's using IE.

It seems to be fixed, probably has to do with the upgrade of the vbulletin code. *shrugs*

I told him to restart now to see. He just got it like less than an hour ago and so did I when I originally signed onto the board.

I was getting it for the last several hours (IE), then it cleared up about 30 minutes ago, then it came back for the last five minutes or so and cleared up again... so whatever's causing it may not quite be worked out yet.

(Edit: And it came back again for a couple minutes right after I posted that...)

It's almost as if it's random. I couldn't log on w/ my computer at all (ie, firefox, or netscape). I could though on a friends computer (ie).

I've been getting it on my computer (OS X, Safari) all day. I have to refresh two or three times to get a page to load.

Jolt is aware of this problem and is working on it.

I got it too, but I managed to find my way through the links from http://forums.jolt.co.uk/ to http://forums.jolt.co.uk/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=9815488

I had this problem between about 10 pm and midnight last night CST; it went away for about an hour, and then I started having the problem again for about six hours. Screw it, I'm keeping this tab on firefox open until I can be sure it has been completely fixed because I don't want to go through the assorted jolt login hassles again.

I'm having the issue too, but for some reason putting www.forums.jolt.co.uk instead of forums.jolt.co.uk seems to fix the problem...

sometimes.

Funny, I don't have this problem, even when I'm running Safari (like now).

The problem is still arisin for me when i try to get in through nationstates.net and through a 'My Favourites' link, but it works when you go the long way through Jolt:

www.jolt.co.uk

Go to 'Forums' at the top of the page and then scroll down till you find 'nationstates' and click on it.

Hope its fixed fairly soon.

yeah, the forum link on NS has been broken for about a week now. Its really starting to tick me off...all symptoms of the same disease, instability. Whether it is talking about programmer's mental state or not is debatable at the moment.

It's finally working again. Thanks to Salusa/the mods at Jolt for fixing it, and to Lay for helping bring it to their attention. :D

As far as I can tell, it only affects certain IP Addresses, because it works fine, but if I reconnect I suddenly get the error.... This has been a common problem for new installations of vBulletin 3.5 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148167), if the server has something called TurkMMCache installed on it. TurkMMCache is some sort of php optimizer or server accelerator.

If you cant connect, try reconnecting to the internet.

That didn't work, gives the error.

www.forums.jolt.co.uk

That worked...

Wierdness..

I tried a reconnect to the net and nothing. URL problem it seems.

ITD hit me up on AIM I have a few FF questions for you.

I had a lot of problems logging on yesterday, cleared my NS/Jolt cookie cache, logged in today, and it worked perfectly fine.

Try that and see how it goes.

Your success was almost certainly due to Jolt fixing the problems, CM. EVERYONE was affected at several points. NONE of the mods could get in for long stretches.

We're hoping it's settled. Really we are.

For me it's still broken...

I am pretty sure the link from NS is still broken for everyone... It is the Jolt upgrade that was fixed allowing people to log on and use the forums now.

possibly...there's still a lot of bugs and broken links (like the NS redirect).

But it did clear up immediately after I cleared the cache. Maybe just part of my security settings looking at different page settings and bouncing it.
