I just joined, and I was looking for a cool region to join, but there are unfortunately about 5 billion regions to look through. The search feature can only find exact region names... it would be nice if there was a search that could just look for regions with the name "torture" or "happy" or whatever like a normal search engine.

It would really help new players to find regions that suit them, and it would also help regions with cool names get noticed. There might be a way to search for this this in forums or something, but for new people its much simpler to have the search in game. It seems like a basic implement, but then again I'm not a coder, I just know that sites everywhere have these basic searches. Also, it might reduce the amount of regions that feel the need to put 000000 in front of everything to be seen.

No. Not techncially possible at this time. However, there is an alternative. Move your nation search out of the main frameset. (Shift-click on List all nations). Once there, advance to Page 2 to bring up this URL
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=list_nations/start=15By manually changing the /start=### number, you can advance thousands of nations instantly. A little judicial guesswork will get you into the right neighborhood in 3 or 4 guesses, and then you can advance the page numbers manually to find what you seek.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. Would be nice if it was a bit more user friendly, but if its not possible oh well. We'll see if i can follow those weird instructions..
