i was just poking round the nuts n bolts section (as i do when general is quiet & i'm bored enough) and i noticed the only thread (that i can see) in the Archive section (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1233) is the Ruling on swastikas in flags (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=275081) sticky

this is odd because i know that themanchester meeting thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=437292&page=1&pp=15) is in there (its listed as the last post), as well as the first General election from June, along with - i'm sure - many, many more threads. why can't i see them? are they hidden or something or is it just like that for me? if the former, why?

They're there if you do a research.

You have your personal settings set to show only threads from $period, which excludes older threads. Go into your Profile / Edit Option / Thread Display Options and chose 'Show All Threads'.

Shocked, aren't you? These things actually work the way they're supposed to once in a while...

If you only want to look at older posts in a once off thing, you can do it through the 'Display Options' box at the bottom of the forum screen (underneath the threads). Useful if you're looking for one specific thread, and don't trust the Jolt search engine to find what you're looking for.
