Jolt Doing Something Funny

I went on NationStates and looked at the navigation bar on the left hand side. I noticed that under "Latest Threads" there were not any links to recently posted threads. I thought nothing of this, and this continued as I looked at my region and other various things.

When I clicked on the FORUM link to get to the NS forums, I recieved this message (after sometime of waiting)

The NationStates Forums

Please read this important message.
Something went wrong when trying to log you onto the forums but we are not sure what. Please see the Known Problems page to check if this is a system-wide problem; if it's not, please contact admin@nationstates.net (be sure to tell us which nation you are!)

I logged into Jolt using its web address, and logged myself in manually.

Trying to figure out what was going on, I went back into NS, and click Forums again. Well, this time I was directed to the NS Forums, but the system did not automatically log me in like it usually does. I just manually logged myself in, and there wasn't a problem.

I tried getting into the forums for a third time, and it worked perfectly.

This isn't the first time the forums have done wacky things. Earlier today (like an hour ago) I was viewing the forums, and when I refreshed the page, the system reset itself, marking all the threads as read. This was unusual because I had JUST logged into Jolt seconds before and there were 5 threads with new posts in United Nations.

Is this a board problem, or is this my computer?

I realize that the mods do not have access to the Admin CP, so if I need to forward this to Jolt itself, I can do that. The only conclusion I can to is my internet connection wasn't working, but that doesn't explain why Jolt reset itself. The other conclution I got was the server for the forums was acting up, and ran out of space.

If I were to say 'this happens all the time', it would sound like a criticism, which it's not. But Jolt does go down like a [insert appropriate prostitute analogy]. It just happens. I experienced the same problem at the time you did - others did too. It happens. These forums are huge, and they suck up bandwidth like [once more]. It's not a problem with your PC.

Well, that's what I think, anyway. I don't KNOW 100%, so obviously, wait for the mods.

The game and the forums are on different servers. Sometimes one is up and the other is down, even if only for a few seconds or minutes. Given the load on Jolt and NS, it's not surprising that it happens occasionally.

Trust me when I say that both Jolt and NS staff know about it. Just be patient and wait for it to return.
