Tax rate from 0 to 100% overnight (5.6 billion population)

Okay.
The title pretty much explains it.
"The average income tax rate is 100%."
I have had 0% for over a year, and it suddenly jumped to 100% overnight. Now I suddenly got an issue why my tax rate is at 100%. This simply cannot be true. I know that tax can rise due to issue choices, but I am pretty sure it cannot go from 0% to 100% in one (maybe two days). Considering the fact I am an Anarchy with 5.6 billion people.

What was the last issue you got about before your tax rate went up? Maybe that contributed to the problem

No issue causes tax rates to jump that much overnight.
I'm not sure what is going on though. Might want to wait for a game moderator or an administrator on this one.

its probably a glitch...either that or a whacked out issue whet was the issue any way ?

This exact thing happened to my nation, and I know at least one other as well; all large population nations with months, if not years of 0 income tax suddenly changed. I was told to review all the issues I'd answered in the past X days, but I didn't find any that would explain it nor did I change my issue answering habits.

Everything I did in the last following issues couldn't have risen taxes. Heh, maybe I lowered taxes that much it turned negative, and the game granted me with this bug.

I thought that too. And I've gotten at least 2 or 3 tax decreasing issues since then that haven't had any effect - which would corroborate the fact that it didn't just pop 'up' to 100% (plus I never saw it at anything except 0 and 100%, there was no 95 or 40 or 3%), it actually went the other way, down. Cuz of bugginess.

How do you get 0% tax anyway? I hate taxes and I don't want my citizens to have to pay them.

Don't select options that give money to [x] from the government. Since less money is being used to impliment the program, there will be less taxes.
I am also a person who tries to get rid of the taxes, so when I do not know which option will lower the income tax rate, I go to the option that helps the economy and big buisness the most. In my observations, thats the best way to lower taxes.

0% taxes is easy to get, if you're a young nation. But my nation is over 5.6 billion. I guees it will take me a month to recover from this...

Maybe that one mistery issue is what is making it hard for me to get down from 100%. Could ya tell us which one it is so i could vote against it next time?
thanks in advance

A lot longer than that, I'm afraid.
Interestingly enough no one has an issue that goes from 100% to 0%... not even the "Burn it all down" one where you choose the anarchist option, or the tax cut issue(s).
Actually, there's at least one....
Er...isn't that the one in which one option says "High income earners must pay a 100% tax rate"?

So you're saying that this is not a bug? I'm really annoyed, then. I'll try to get my tax back to 0%. An issue (and which one will that be? I didn't decide on any significant issues by the time) that makes your tax rate jump from 0% to 100% overnight with a huge nation like mine, just isn't fun.
