How do you do that? :confused: I've seen some people do it, but when I try, it just edits the name in that little bar just above the first post.

You can't do it. Only Mods can change topic titles. You refer to seeing topic titles changed, but that only happens after a request is made to a Mod to do so - or for other reasons, but still by a Mod. So, if you want to change your topic title, post a link in the Mod forum, and they'll do it for you. (And remember to say please.)

I think there may be a window of opportunity to change a thread name after editing. I'm thinking it's on the order of 90 seconds - just enough time to catch it, edit, and save again. I can't think of any other explanation for the occasional "Nevermind" thread titles I've seen.

Well, I did an experiment in the spam forum that seemed to confirm Fris's suggestion that it is possible shortly afterwards. However, it's the spam forum, so I think the permissions may be different.

You were right: going back to the spam thread, I was unable to change the topic. That was some time later though, so I don't know what the timeframe is. But yes, basically, you can't change your title...unless you're quick.
