Idea for improvement

I have come to the conclusion that the UN members (Before you say this should be in the UN forum, here me out, the UN part is just evidence suggesting my idea may be a good one) includes a gigantic amount of members that are just starting out that only clicked a button to join the UN, I realized this because most UN users just scroll down the resolution page and click Vote for, even though they haven't actually read the resolution! I believe most users don't realize that there's more than just a telegram saying Laws have been brought in, it affects your country too! So, my idea is to make it so all users applying to become UN members must have the same restriction as Users trying to make their own Issue, and all members of the UN not qualified for that restriction should be kicked out of the UN. Who thinks the same?

So you should have a population of >500 million to join the UN?

The mods will probably say no anyway.

The mods will say no, don't worry about that.

First, who is to say that all new nations, or any for that matter, automatically vote for a resolution? You are clearly taking a stereotype, using a few nations (which may not even exist for all we know) to judge every enw nation.
Secondly, why is it you think there is a magic milestone at 500 million population that means your can handle the responcibility?
Also, what about nations who have been arround for years with an anti-UN nation, who suddenly want a UN nation? Should they have to wait however many months with a nation that is essentially pointless untill they hit thr 500 million mark?

I never said that all new members just automaticly vote yes on every resolution, but there are tonnes that do, second of all, i couldnt pay attention to the big long thing you said, my eyes started to hurt for some reason  i think i need a doctor.

but the point i was trying to make is that the number of people that do just vote yes without looking overpowers most of the people that think it over and say an answer that is thought over, i know almost all my friends peers and bosses do it. alot of people where i live play NS and over 3/4 of them just click yes and move on

How do you know that new members are voting without reading the resolutions? Could it just as easily be they read them and agree with them -- whether or not they fully understand what's been written?

You may want to tone down your post, especially since you're talking to a Mod (albeit an especially nice one).

Just because somebody is a new member, doesn't mean that they are incapable of grasping what is happening in the UN, i.e. reading it & understanding it.

As you can see, I am a new member, but I understand and grasp everything about the Microcredit Bazaar as well as the Delegates who have been here from the beginning. Yet I have a population of only 7 million.

To pass a rule that says I should not be able to take part in the UN because my population is 493 million people short seems foolish and illogical.

There are plenty of new nations that joined Nation States because they have a firm grasp on politics, and wanted to be part of a group of people who too have an understanding of politics.

And if 99% of new nations vote Yes on an Act or Proposal, there is always the chance, that they believe in want the Act or Propsal lays out, and what to see it passed.

I imagine that the rules exist for the protection of non-Mods also :P

But yeah. I would have to disagree. I think for the most part, it really doesnt matter if some people are just agreeing to a resolution - and I disagree that all of em will do so without reading and making a desision either / or. Now, perhaps if you suggested that upon applying for membership, there were a small FYI explaining that membership in the United Nations affected individual nations (almost) as much as Issues, and that resolutions *do* matter, then I would have agreed with you.

In the meantime, since when did the (RL) United Nations become exclusive. I picture the (NS) United Nations to be a similar sort of organisation. I just dont see the benefits, since such a rule would defeat much of the in-game capabilities.

Of course. It just seems like an especially bad idea to post in that manner when you're replying to Mod. *shrug*

I think I agree with you. Seems about as clever as sending a mod a TG telling them they are, "dense".

At any rate, this isn't going to happen.

Full stop.
