Just an idea, but would it be possible to set up the game so that each nation had its flag as an avatar. We did this in an off Jolt forum and it worked well - you could instantly see who had posted what. Other avatars would not be allowed under my idea, only a nation's flag (everyone has one).
So, could we, would we, should we?

This isn't a NationStates decision, it's up to Jolt, which does not allow avatars to any user, except if you work for Jolt. It no longer allows players with 10,000 posts to get an avatar. So, in other words, nope.
Avatars cost money for Jolt anyways, so letting us have avatars for free would be a huge loss for Jolt.
