About that military budget.....

I've been trying for the past several months to get my military budget really, really, really high my goal is to eventually pass 10 trillion. Every single issue which deals with either "Economy", "Military Budget/Defence", or "Taxes," I do whatever it takes to get them up higher.

My current status:

Economy: Frightening

Taxes: 100%

Military budget= 4.6 trillion.

I have that small budget problem. I choose what would raise the budget up higher and I did get up to 5.1 trillion at one point and I continued to do the same thing. But within the last few weeks, my budget either went down or slightly up. I just don't get it.

How can my budget be going down if I choose the option which should increase it?

I don't know enough about the coding of the game to comment on how Issues work. But I'd have thought that one problem might be that, having a Frightening economy, you simply can't expand that much more. Also, you have 100% taxes: although, again, it won't necessarily work in this way, it could be that such high taxes are unconducive to the market, so it is stagnating.

Of course, the '5.1 trillion' figure is, anyway, not derived from anything to do with NS - you're getting that from a calculator such as NSEconomy or Pipian. For questions about those, you'd be better off asking on the specific forums of those sites. That said, in this case, you had better wait for a response for someone who knows how the coding works for a better answer.

I think that some choices increasing taxes and economy can build up commerce or welfare at cost of military.

About that.... I've seen Sunset Economy Calculator, Pipian Calculator, and the NSEconomy calculator and they've all given me different answers for my budget. Isn't there ONE universal calculator?

BTW, does anyone have a list of all of the Economy Calculators around?

Calculators are player created and thus, inherently biased. While gamedata is used, the way this data is interpreted varies widely. And, as mentioned in all previous threads dealing with calculators, Nationstates doesn't endorse any of them.

So there really is no point in asking about it in technical. Really, there isn't.
