Complaint Regarding UN

I've only been in NS for three days now, so this may just be an error due to lack of experience, but I have a problem I'd like to bring up with the Admins.

Yesterday, I joined the UN. I voted on Resolution #105, the "Repeal National Systems Tax" resoultion (Aye, by the way). Based on what I read in the above resoultion and the original resolution being repealed, I was led to believe that Resolution 105 repealed a previous one that required UN members to adopt a progressive income tax. As my country didn't have an income tax before 105 passed, my country shouldn't have been affected by it.

To my surprise, my country adopted a progressive income tax to "comply with the recently passed UN resolution." To be clear, that's the one which waived the requirement to have a progressive income tax, the one that shouldn't have done anything to my country. Well, it did have an effect on my country, and now the Per Capita GRP has been cut to 1/4 it's previous amount, downgrading my economy from "Powerhouse" to "Good." As a result, I'm about to be kicked out of my region for having a weak economy.

Taking all of that into account, I have three questions for the Admins:

1. WTF?
2. How can I fix my economy? Can I trade with other coutnries to boost commerce?
3. If I withdraw from the UN, will the tax in my country be repealed?

1) Your tax could have come from an issue or two. I've never seen anything official from the UN other than Laws have been enacted to bring the Whatever of Yournation into compliance with the United Nations resolution "Repeal "National Systems of Tax"".There is no specific mention of a tax increase anywhere in the UN telegram.

Go read the Issues FAQ in "Got Issues". Many of your questions will be answered there.

2) You can fix your nation by answering issues. There is no trade in the game.

3) No.
