suggestion: editing posts

Hmm, i've always found it sort of annoying that when i had to edit a post, as in, add a load of stuff edit, it didn't add to my post count. Even if i had to add a whole paragraph to my post, my post count stayed as 55, or 32, or whatever. so here is my suggestion:

I suggest that whenever a person edits their post and adds, say, 3 paragraphs (number can change), that their post count go up by one. It's pretty simple, just a few changes in code. I know most peopl will disagree with my idea, but hey, it's just an idea.

Not really. In the technical side of things, a post is still a post, no matter how much you edit it. It is still within 1 box. If anything, this wouldn't be a good idea, because it would promote post-whoring, so that people can boost their post count as much as they possibly can.

Not nearly as annoying as seeing someone's one word post counting the same as when I post a 3000 word role-play. The fact remains that they're both still a single post.

It's more likely that post counts will removed completely then changed based on word count.

If post-whoring is that important to you, go to the Spam (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=29) forum every time you edit something and add a +1 to some mindless thread down there. If you honestly think that postcount adds to your stature, go inflate it there.

We can't add it to the forums (we don't own Jolt), and I'd recommend against it even if we could. This idea goes in the "not gonna happen" bin.

no mean to offend anyone, but i personally, think that editing should as a post, even though i know this isn't going to happen. What if someone wants to post something, but just doesnt want to double post, they would have to wait until somebody else posts, whichcould change their entire pointof view. I know that some a$$holes will try to add one word to a post and say that it counts as an extra post, i am entirely agaisnt that. But if a person adds more content, like some paragraphs, i think it should count.
Even though it's not gonna happen.
