Legislated issues disappearing

Both Linami and Hoffertium have had their decision about voting being compulsary disappear, and we then both got the issue back in our to-do list. Is the database dropping decisions?

Also, it should be noted that the game is not run on a database; rather, it is on an individual-file system. This is why a better search engine is not possible.

Well, OK, I understand all that, but I think my case might be a little different. Today, I had one of my previous decisions disappear without it coming back as an issue to be decided; it just plain disappeared. Would this also be explained by the randomization of issues?

P.S. Today my entire nation is very screwed up; A LOT has changed since yesterday, seemingly too much to be results of my issues from yesterday. I'm almost wondering if someone has hacked into my nation, but even then I don't understand how they could make one of my previous decisions just disappear.

Aside from the issues, there is also the UN (if your nation is in the UN). Nte that the issues all have exaggerated effects. Most of the time, it is best to dismiss the issues as they come up, all except the ones that you like. I prefer the Democracy issues (dimema 0 I get a lot of).

Only your last three or four decisions remain in your nation's description - they cycle off each time you make decisions on new issues. Just because a decision has disappeared, doesn't mean you will get that issue again immediately. There are many issues and it is a random process until you get that one again.

It can be very frustrating when you get the same issue many time within a small period but that's the game. Eventually you'll get all of the ones relevant to your nation. But you'll never have more than four decisions displayed at a time.

The answers thus far may have answered your question. I think they've adequately covered all the bases.

If I'm wrong, the original author should post his continuing problems along with relevant issues like Have you tried refreshing your browser cache?
What browser are you using?
How many issues are disappearing? Over how many days?
Does the problem occur whether you answer, dismiss, or ignore the issues?
Has it happened more than once?
Have you changed your password in case somebody is in fact using your computer (sibling, roommate, etc)
Did you use a public computer with this nation, and was it set to auto-login at the time? These and other tidbit will help us track down any technical glitches. If they are on our end, one of our admins will eventually look into it. (Real life is kicking their asses right now, so don't hold your breath). If they are on your end, hopefully these posts will help you isolate and remove the problem.

Good luck.
