I've been able to endorse one nation twice

I make it a point to endorse every fellow UN member in my region. Today a nation that was in the region and left came back and I went to endorse him/her. I did that and it was all fine, but then I noticed that there was also an endorsement by another nation, Gensa. Knowing most of the UN members in my region I decided to check it out so I clicked on it and much to my surprise it took me back to my own nation! I searched for Gensa in The World, but couldn't find it. So what's going on? Am I Gensa? If so then I have endorsed a nation twice, if not then have I breached security and somehow logged into someone else's account?

The nation I endorsed is here (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/53180/page=display_nation/nation=macosx)

Gensa me is here (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/53909/page=display_nation/nation=gensa)

Don't panic!

When you click on the Gensa link, it takes you to your own nation. The reason for this is simple: Gensa has been deleted from the game for whatever reason and I'm guessing it took place today during the nation purges at the minor update, however, since the UN update hasn't occured, yet, Gensa's UN endorsement hasn't been dropped. I'd expect that once the UN update, which happens at random hits your region, Gensa's endorsement will be eliminated.

You are not Gensa; it's just a glitch, albeit a weird one I've never seen before...

Alternative explanation: The nation you are endorsing could have been strategically moving between regions to avoid the update. This isn't cheating (at least nobody's ever been deleted for doing that). When a nation does so, deleted nations still show up on their endorsements list.

That's not it. Check to see if the nation in questions exists, first, which is what I did. It clearly has expired.

Yes. If you click a link to a nation or region that doesn't exist, it takes you to your own.
Ex:

http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/36577/page=display_region/region=rqowepryqowpeiruqwoerypqpoweiruqwe
[edit]This seems not to work for the region. If you click that link, it takes you to a weird blank region. Hmmm.

As I expected, once the UN update hit, Gensa's endorsement went the way of the dinosaur.
