Hello,

I am very new and have a question. It came up in gameplay but never got an answer and has now disappeared.

So the question is what effect do the initial government type descriptions have on your country and are they permanent? By this I mean when you choose, sensible, corrupt, libertarian, ect.

I chose corrupt with spirit of cheerful cynicism that all governments have corruption, although this is counter-intuitive to the country style I am running (socially and economically liberal). I seem to be stuck on Inoffensive Democracy even though my attributes are not all moderate and am wondering if corruption choice is dragging me down since I find a rule page in gameplay linking this choice more to dictatorship and the low end of attributes.

Please disabuse me of my concerns!

You definitely want to check that thread out. This describes the different effects of choosing different options in creating your nation. The options that you choose in creating your nation are not final. You can manipulate your national description through answering the issues that you receive.

I just wanted to hear that picking corrupt government style at the onset will not have permanent effect.

That was actually the exact place where my question went unanswered (and still sitting there :J).
