Changing nation features

My nation has been "renowned for its complete lack of prisons", now it is "renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape", and it switches frequently from one to the other. And then the crime is major problem "probably because of the lack of prisons" or without reason. And it probably has been posted before, but I couldn'r find it. And I don't know what I want to be done about it, but it's annoing and I felt like complaining.

Srry- nothing you can do about it.
Except for run your nation differently.

It can be explained by saying that your nation is renowned not only for its barren landscape, but also for its lack of prisons. However, the game can only put one of them up at a time, so it goes for the one that is most supported by your recent issue decisions.

You'll have to put more funding into prisons I guess, if you want to stop receiving that message.

Time for the Big Ole Explination of the Spotlight, I guess. We'll use my nation as an example:

"The Semi-Autonomous Technocratic Oligarchy of The Most Glorious Hack"

Pre-title and nation name.

"is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its compulsory military service."

Size descriptor based on population; second descriptor based on policy choices; third descriptor rotates from a few options, again based on your choices with issues (a refresh gives me: "remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape")

"Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population"

Description based on issue choices.

"of 4.886 billion"

Population. Only time affects this.

"enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases."

Stock desriptor based on your UN Category. In this case, it's what you get if you're Capitalizt.

"There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals"

Based on issue choice. Mostly how much you spend on the government itself.

"concentrates mainly on Education, although Commerce and Healthcare are secondary priorities."

Priorities from issues. You can see the percentages on the XML. In my case, the breakdown is something like 56%, 30%, 12%.

"Income tax is unheard of."

Tax rate. Again, issues.

"A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry."

Your MAJORINDUSTRY, based on issues. Since my IT is so far ahead of everything else, it gets listed alone. You can have up to 3.

"The Most Glorious Hack has become a gigantic dustbowl filled with tourists and mean desperados, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, UFO sightings are listed daily in the morning news, and streakers swamp all public events in order to bare it all."

4 most recent issue choices.

"Crime is totally unknown."

This crime listing is based on your issues. Anarchies have crime mentioned in their first paragraph, but this one specifically relates to your crime ranking.

"The Most Glorious Hack's national animal is the voormis, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the chit."

Animal and currency, as set in Settings. The teetering bit after voormis represents your general ecological make-up. They can also flourish, or be the nation's favorite dish (which comes from an issue).

Wow. Thanks for the detailed explanation, oh Most Glorious.
I just ordered construction of new prisons (although I can't recall ordering the "gigantic" flavor "all over the country"). I wonder if Nipeng turns out to be prisonless anymore.
