Ok guys, I am remindede why I stopped coming to the forums. I hope this can get fixed, bc Im tired of having to track down original quotes, just so I can read them.

Something about the forums horizontal settings are off. Anytime someone quotes, it cuts off characters on the right side of the screen. This is true in all the table settings.

Additionally, standard buttons and links are cut off on the right side.

Can someone please do something about this issue?

the forums are fine...... I do not have that problem. It most likely something to do with your computer/browser.

Well, I think that's something you'd have to take up with Jolt... but I don't have that problem.

Here's their technical support forum: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=12

My browser is IE.

Yeah, I know... evil Microsoft. Im running 1024 by 768. This is the only place I have the issue. Someone has something from NS (I know its NS settings bc Ive tried using other skins with the same result) in the table set to a specific pixel size instead of a %.

Therefore, the frames arent opened enough for the data going into them. Im not getting a bottom scroll bar, that would allow me to scroll over.

As I see it you have one major problem - you're using Internet Explorer. Although that probably isn't the problem ( :p ) I still suggest you change to Firefox...IMMEDIATELY.

And to help him out:

But in all seriousness, isn't this a Jolt problem, not just a NS problem? In that case, follow my last post's link.

1. I am using IE. I like IE. I know IE. Im not changing my browser, just because you dont believe it is upto standards.

2. I dont know whose problem it is. I know that I am reporting the issue to the forum mods first, because this is their forum. If it involves something outside of their field, then they can forward the complaint to the proper persons with Jolt. I am not a member with Jolt. I am a member of NS, who houses their forums on Jolt.

It ain't the browser. My screen resolution is the same as yours, I'm connecting with IE 6.0.2800, and I'm having no problems. I understand your frustration, however. "Switch to Firefox" is not an acceptable answer.

At any rate, I think the problem is local to your machine. I never have this problem regardless of which flavor of IE I use.

I know that I am reporting the issue to the forum mods first, because this is their forum.

Forum Moderators can't to a damn thing about this problem. They can play with threads and ban users and that's it. If this is a problem forum-side, you'd need to talk to a Forum Administrator, and they're on Jolt's side, not NS's. All you can get here is guesses as to what the problem is.

If it involves something outside of their field, then they can forward the complaint to the proper persons with Jolt. I am not a member with Jolt. I am a member of NS, who houses their forums on Jolt.

No offense, but you're a Jolt member and it's your problem. NS housing its forums on Jolt make you a Jolt member.

Meh... nevermind I said anything.

Seems I cant bother to report an issue and get an answer from someone working on the forums without insulting someone or being talked down to like a baby.

I think I will just go back to avoiding the forums all together. Maybe its just time to let my nation die afterall.

Well, I'll be glad to give you an official response.

I also use IE, 6.0.2900.2180, and I've used it with SP1 and SP0, all with no problems on Jolt forums. I also use Opera 7.11, again with no problem. While my screen resolution varies depending on which machine I'm using, it's never less than 1024 x 768, though my Jolt window often is.

I've never experienced the problem you're describing on Jolt. I have seen instances of frame-breaking images and massively long spampost lines, but I've always had a horizontal scroll bar to navigate with.

I've been second and third level support staff for a Fortune 100 company for the past 5 years, and I know a little bit about idenifying problems. Step one, reporduce the issue. I can't do that here. I don't know what other conditions may apply on your system, but I can tell you that these other players are correct - it's not a systemic problem. Yours is the first complaint on this issue that I recall in my 1.5 years in this game.

Sorry that I can't provide any better answer, but if I can't replicate it, I can't fix it.

PS: the previous posters are also correct in that forum mods do not have access to the forum code. That takes a Jolt admin, and there are none on the NationStates team. We're tenants here, not the site owner.
