I suggest that there should be some sort of capability added to the nation and region searches that lets you skip to the start of a letter, or lets you add in words to search for in the title of the nation.

I believe this has been asked by Neo-Anarchists before(Can't find the thread, sorry), and it was refused. Just open up several browser windows with the beginning of each letter in each browser window
