I think this would belong in technical. Make sure that the e-mail you supplied in settings is the one you have been checking. Ask again in technical. If you've done something wrong, ask the mods.

Nah, the UN told me in math class yesterday that it really has a crush on you, but its just pretending to hate you so the other kids won't make fun of it.

have you checked your email/ISP spam filters?
Also note that a UN joining request is only valid for 24 hours so you may need to reapply

You're all wrong. It's good until it gets bumped out of the queue. The UN only keeps track of some number of applications at a time, and then it drops the old ones. I don't remember the number, it may be 500. So, if you wait until N nations apply after you, the email expires.

I think your confusing the time it takes for the e-mail to reach you and the amount of time it takes for your UN aplication, that you received, to expire.

Have you double-checked the email address supplied in your settings page - just asking cos i've seen someone make this mistake.

I remember another user had the same problem a long time ago. If my memory serves me right, he said he changed the e-mail address he had the UN Application sent to, dunno for sure though. But it might be worth a try.

I am having the same problem.

I've applied to the UN several times. I get on NationStates practically everyday, and as a result, I check my email everyday to see if I've recieved the UN application. I know the email address is correct, because I recieved an email to confirm my address before I was allowed to post in the forums.

I believe this also rules out the possibility of my mail service blocking the email as spam. I don't think I have any sort of spam blocker at all (it's bad but I survive).

Also, I don't think it's a 24 hour time limit. The link sent would expire after 24 hours, yes, but as I've never gotten an email and never had a link sent, it couldn't have expired.

What e-mail service do you have? (This goes for everyone with the problem)

Netscape. I have a roadrunner account, though. I'll see if I can figure out the password to the RR account and change the address on NS to see if it fixes the problem.
