Some people may remember that I advocated the creation of a NS spam forum, but I announce that I have modified my stance on this issue.

I now advocate splitting General into a "Debate" forum and a "Social" forum.

The "Debate" forum will consist of serious debate and only serious debate. On-topicness(?) will be strictly maintained.

The "Social" forum will consist of:

- an official welcome thread (as previously suggested)
- an official word games thread
- an official spam thread
- all social topics including "fluffle" and "casual debate".

The problem of "too much work for moderators' can be solved by adding more moderators (as I have always advocated0 and by having moderators focus on moderating one forum (although they will be free to moderate other forums).

I believe that this will lead to cleaner NS forums and will make keeping track of threads easier. it will also reduce friction between those who prefer debate and those who prefer "fluffle".

I just have a quick question...

How do you define this "casual debate" thing? I thought the vast majority of debates in General were casual to some degree. :confused:

I would think those more along the lines of political and religion things would be "debate" and stuff such as: what is better, Star Wars or Star Trek, would be "casual debate"

No. We're not going to split General. No. We're not going to create a social forum. No. We're to going to permit word games. No. We're not going to have a spam thread. No. We're not going to eliminate moderator oversight. No. We're not going to permit Sandpitian concepts of democracy change the rules of these forums. All of these suggested forums exist on Jolt already, and there is no need for NationStates to recreate them.

You have raised this time after time after time, and each time you have been politely but firmly rejected by Mods, Admins, and more than a few players. Enough already. We're all very tired of your unoriginal and ill-thought-out schemes. Stop spamming Moderation and Technical, Sandpit. Next time you do, official warnings will be issued.

Give up mate, you aren't going to get anywhere, except from the League of Spammers with official warnings.
