Tax and legislation is decided by the issues you answer.

While you're all at helping newbs - another simple question... I had an issue, made a choice, and now it shows 'legislation pending', in bold what I selected, with 'This is the position your government is preparing to adopt.' under it. Do I have to do something else, or will it just process my desicion now that I clicked the accept button? Thnx.

That is all you have to do, and then the legislation will come into effect in a while.

Ok, thnx for that. Another question: if you select to receive 2 issues a day, will they 'stack' or is it so that you can't receive another issue before the other one is dealt with? Thnx.

If I remember correctly a nation can have up to five issues awaiting a decision at one time.

just wondering, how can i buy weapons and armour from other nations, if they dont get the money for it...how does that work and also how do you propose alliances with other nation....and also (i know this is tiring for you) when you invade a nation and win can you take over it or does it just remain in the control of the founder

That's Role-Playing, and basically involves you saying "I spend $50 M on your Ubern00K". You "lose" that $50 M, and gain one Ubern00k, while they lose the Ubern00k and gain $50 M. It's generally frowned upon to spend more than your nation can generate over a period of time - again, check thirdgeek for how much that is. 1 RL day usually = 1 NS year, but not all nations go by the same scale.

For alliance propositions, just ask them via the forums or TG (preferred, since you're only dealing with one other nation).

For invasions, if the founder is still around, then yes, they can still kick you out if they want to. Most invaders target regions with no founder for this reason. If there is no founder, then yes, you have basically "conquered" the region, but you MUST adhere to a very specific set of rules made for this purpose. See here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=301703) for details.

Edit: I just realized that you were talking about invading a nation, not a region. Sorry about that. That involves some Role-Play guidelines that I'm not very familiar with, but from what I do understand, you would have to be careful in such a situation that you weren't god-modding. Role-Play is done outside of Game Mechanics, though, and so the nation would remain in the other player's control unless they gave you the password to it.

Sooo... what else is there to do? You can adress the issues you're given, you can roleplay a bit, though I'm still not sure how that works, so, is there anything else to do?

You can join the UN or not -up to you. You can create multiple nations and experiment with trying to create different types of governments and nations. But if you do, only one can be in the UN (no multies allowed from the same user -or same computer for that matter since NS isn't psychic or omnitient enough to see who is sitting there each time. :p ) You can also spend time in the various forums available just chatting it up and debating with the many other players. When you'er a big enough nation you can start creating your own issues to submit and give your nation a more creative title in front of your name.

So you can create more than one nation on the SAME computer as long as there's only one in the UN? With the same mail-adress? Also, how long (real-life) should it take for me to reach a population 500 million?

Affirmative. For instance, Goobergunchia, Goobergunchia II, and Goobergunchia III are all openly controlled by me, but none of them are currently in the UN.

Also, how long (real-life) should it take for me to reach a population 500 million?

About three months.

Thanks! Should you care, Arkanaz II and III are a fact! I'll be using The People's Republic of Arkanaz as my 'real' nation, sorta how I'd run things. The Oppressed People and the Free Land are quite fun, however. I simply selected the direct opposites for the last two. :)

So increases are automatic? There are no ways to encourage them?

Yes, population only increases with time, issues have no effect on population growth whatsoever.
