National Description Question

I went to check my national description, and I seen that my national animal had a link that I could click on. My national animal is a King Cobra, and when I clicked the link, it came to this: http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=24&k=king%20cobra which is a link to a bunch of golf clubs. I'm assuming this is a new feature that was added? Or maybe its just the computer I'm using...

That's very strange, because my national description does not have any links in it like you describe, I'd think if this was a site-wide change we would've known about it... are you on your regular computer? What browser are you running?

I'm actually using a computer at a coffee place, and I'm on Internet Explorer. It's probably just this computer, but still, it's odd.
Edit: The word 'internet' in this post has a link in it.

Spyware most likely.
I've seen this stuff happen before, it's a "service" to "upgrade" your internet experience. They make money off the searches or soemthing that happens when you click one of the links.

That's so completely weird and random. I've never heard of it before, Kwas, and I'll keep an eye out for it.

I think there was a topic about this in technical a while ago...... but yah. basically it will put in random links. happens usually when you download one of those "helper toolbars" or other things like that.

Awesome, thank you Kwas, TH, and Neo-Anarchists. :)
I'm glad its not my home computer that came up with that, but I was just curious as to why it was doing that. It is a public computer, so it's probably loaded with spyware.
