You Know what would be cool?

 It would be awesome if we could have each nation have an alotted amount of troops, say 50. Then, a Region's delegate can officialy declare war. A telegram would be sent out to all nations in the region. All nations that respond (by a link) would contribute their fifty. the delegate would play a top-view war, ala red alert maybe. They would have the region's troops. I don't know details, like what they would win in war, but I think it's a cool idea.

It's a cool idea, but I don't think it would work with NS, because NS is a)free and b) internet-browser based. What WOULD work though, is for each nation to build an army according to the RP rules that are scattered liberally through the forum, and then assemble their army on an Age of Empires 2 map, or a Rome: Total War scenario, or Command and Conquer: Generals/Red Alert and fight it out over the internet. A neutral observer would be needed to set up the map, perhaps, and to report on who won and who lost what troops.

I wonder if people are already doing this?

That could work. True, it would be difficult with this system. Maybe if a free-ware program were created that installed when you create a nation. We would need a programmer who would, for free, dedicate his/her time to making the program. Also, perhaps Nationstates could sell a program in stores that you use for advanced play, when regular play could still exist for free. :)

The thing is that NS isn't meant to be a war simulator, really. Just an easy game in which you answer issues, and play with the UN.
If you want war and a complex simulator, try Sim Country (www.simcountry.com)

By the way, that's a bad link.

While it may be cool, it isn't in the right place here in the UN. If you want to role-play war, it would make more sense in the International Incidents or (possibly) NationStates forums. If you are suggesting changes to the game itself, Technical would be better.

So Iam talking about a technical change. Like that other dude said, we could use another program OR even change Nationstates.

Sounds like something for NationStates 2 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=274477).
