Searching for Region/Nation Names

My apologizes if this has been asked and answered before, but I'm new to NS here and have a problem navigating the site. According to today's page, NS has 134,354 nations organized in 16,047 regions. That's a lot of territory to cover when you're just starting out and want to see who/what sort of countries/regions are out there. So far, the only search tool I've found is the country/region lists that are sorted 10 entries at a time. It would take months for me to go through all that.
Does NS keep a sort of master list of names where one can go and look up a nation or region more quickly?

Good morning Eternal Kawaii
The Duchy of Claverton suffered a similar problem when it was founded. If you don't want to wait until a promising recruitment offer appears, then you could do what Claverton did - search on promising-sounding region names, check their homepages, check the other nations in their alliances, read regional message boards and off-site fora, etc, and then pick one more or less at random.
It would be nice to be able to sort regions by population, activity, UN membership, etc, but that would probably require too much work from the game admin.

You could also try NSWiki to find out like-minded nations, or chase posts and when you find someone you like the sound of, just click on their name to go to their national page.

To say the least.
It would require a wholesale rewrite of the game. Currently, Nations and Regions are not filed in a database which is why we can't search. To add a search function would be... a massive undertaking.
While this listing hasn't been updated in awhile, it's a good start and will help you weed out the 35% one-man-band regions:
