So,

Where to begin?

i am hoping that someone of the Nation States game can help me. i was trying to use this game to check a political theory. The limited imput allowed created a country very different from what i had in mind.
Any suggestions?

Your nation is really quite new at the moment, so answering the issues now can have a huge impact on your nation. Give it some time. I would like to help you more but I can't without knowing just what you want your nation to be.

As to the political theory part, this game is simple and lacks many ways to customize your nation how you want. It was made as a promotion and thus didn't have much thought put into it. If you want to be more democratic for example you have to wait for an issue to some up that would allow it. The appeal of this game is the politics that people who play it put into it. The actual nation manipulation is actually a surprisingly small part of it, but still the biggest part.

I do not know how one can test a political theory empirically in a hypothetical system.

Simply because certain issue 'decisions' made produce a certain result in this game, it does not necessarily render them true (or any semblance to true whatsoever [at one extreme]) in a real life political situation.

Don't worry Pan Qui Qui, even though it looks that way in the newspapers, i am not Bush or Cheney using this game to test out political theories and then apply them in real life. Any available testing for a method should be tried even if the set up is not exactaly like "real life" if you believetheories should not be tested in EVERY way possible, you do not really have a right to a theory.

To Fenure,

i understand what you are saying, and it is good to know that i am working with a mere book promotional not the online simulation game that is depicted. i guessed that readily for how overly simplified the set up was.

The issues is a big part of my problem for two reasons, i was forced to be a democracy even though my theory stated even in the set up that demopcracy is a fraudulant problem, i'm democratic anyway and there are taxes, i had NO say over economy, even though that was my main facets to check. The issues issue is rather dumb as i have not agreed with any of the proposals, nor would those issues come up if i had actually had any imput on the structure of my country. i am not in this game just for politics or to mess with other "countries" Does anyone know of any games that are what this game advertises it's self as, and not a shoddy excuse of a book promotion? i say that because after trying to play the game now i would not read the book as opposed to a maybe if i saw it in the bookstore.
