Something I've noticed in the past week is that the update lasts unusually long... Right now the Major Update is still running, even though it started 6 hours ago. Before, the update would last about 2.5 - 3.5 hours.

Is this due to some internal code changes? An error?

I'm also noticing the DB is causing trouble, responding very slowly at times (dossier load time, nation load time when it has lots of endorsements, etc...)

Is there perhaps a max. limit we're reaching? (I've also noticed an increase in the total number of nations and regions) Anything us mortal users can do to help? (other than not using the system at all :p )

Game-side problems (which this is) is under the jurisdiction of NS Admins ([violet] and Sal). Major forum problems are Jolt's deal. I'm sure Sal will notice this before too long and say there's nothing we can do, hee

Our server is just being hammered badly and we can only process the regions/nations so quickly. We've upped the efficiency of our code about as much as possible, so there really isn't that much that we can do.

What if a lot of players/nations were.... no longer there? :mp5: Would that reduce the load or is it some other problem?
