I'm currently getting a 404 / Connection refused message when trying to access the Nationstates site.
Is this happening to anyone else?

The server is actuall up (it's there) but it's 404 all connections. This usually happens when maintenance is being performed or one of the servers between you and NationStates is having problems/mauling packets/producing other errors. Nothing to worry about.
I suspect that it's maintenance as this seems to happen on a fairly regular basis. Give it an hour or two and I'll bet the connection goes right through.

That might have been, when, errr, the, ah, Jolt was being made our new host, heh ... And I don't think Jolt has evicted us just yet ... hee.

I though for a second that it'd closed down due to their april fools day joke 'insulting' someone. I hope not!

All of you have some patience. They are probably updating or doing some maintanence. We should be thankful that they do these things and that they do such a damn good job. Hey maybe we're getting a new version of NS with more issues and more interactivity, you never know...

you guys can access it through the jolt page or if you have a thread saved under your favorites. thats the only way i was able to get on.

Heh with the "most likely to be deleted" category and the Homeworld Security thang yesterday... its a wonder there are not more conspiracy theories as to today's unannounced downtime.
I think it's because someone got drunk, read the UN category and then said "let's delete the most likely to be deleted nations!"
And of course going down the list each one becomes increasingly likely... so in the end ALL YOUR NATION ARE DESTROYED. :eek:

Oh good. When my nseconomy.thirdgeek.com feed showed up as "This Nation does not exist", and I got a "connection refused" error, I already thought I'd been framed in some OMGBADSTUFF and DEATed/IP-banned or something. O_o.
