Password/email address problem

I know I've probably got the wrong place, and I should be asking Jolt itself this, but...

I would have assumed that my forum password is the same as my nation's password, but every time I enter my nation's password I get an incorrect password error. I changed my email address but I can't change it in my forum settings because I don't know my password. And it says I need to enter my registered email address to reset my password, so I entered my new email address and since I haven't got a reset-password email I suppose it means my old email address, and I can't really check that anyway, so ARGH!

Is the email address in the Jolt settings used for anything important?

I've noticed this too! It's annoying because I think the NS server assigns your nation with a password which it uses to automatically log you in when you visit the forum. I recently tried changing my e-mail address as well, but then it asked me for my password, which I don't have. I could go through the process of resetting my password and changing to something I can remember, but then the forum link wouldn't log me in, then, would it? I guess what I'd want to know would be: what is my jolt password? Can a mod or someone get it for me? This probably doesn't help you, Random Kingdom, but I just felt like telling of my own experience with this system.

EDIT: To answer your question, it's only important if you want to recieve e-mail updates of the threads you're subscribed to.

Have you ever changed your nation's password before? If you change your NS password, the change doesn't carry over to Jolt. It happens to me, even though my nation has a different password now, my forum password is the same as it was the the date we were moved from the old forums (the date I registered). Is that the problem? You should be automatically logged in when go directly from the game to the forums via the Forum link though, no matter what, so I don't see why you'd ever need to use the Jolt login feature.

Does that help you any?

Ah perhaps! In that case I have been inputting the wrong password. Damn autologin features...
