National animals not being handled robustly

Now, I know this is because the author(s) made some assumptions about what might be "national animal" and what might effect such creatures... but ... I'm getting a bit tired of being told that "Jolest's national animal is the house cat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation...".

Any suggestions on the best way to approach the PTB (powers that be) to suggest that true house-cats are unlikely to care one way or another about deforestation and to make the appropriate change to reflect this?

Thanks,
... Jolest

People should keep their cats indoors, and not let them hunt in the forests at nights :p

My national animal is the Shrimp Platter, and I suffer from similar problems. What truly amazed me was that the lowly Shrimps needed to build tiny undersea homes out of the discarded toothpicks from seaside oyster bars. Deforestation leads to a shortage of wood, which leads to a shortage of wood scrap, which leads to a shortage of toothpicks, etc. etc.

This is one of those things people are going to have to live with.Or build elaborate rationalizations around.
