Hi, sorry if someone has already posted this and I'm just too blind to see it, but I'm having technical difficulty. When I go to rate a thread instead of the drop down menu all I get is a blue vertical line. I use Netscape 7.2 and Windoze XP and the computer is a Celeron if that's of any help...

I get the same thing, and occasionally, the left half of the drop down menu appears, but I'm unable to actually click on one of the choices.

Not that I use the rating system, but I'm curious as to what's wrong with it...

What's your screen resolution? I remember having problems in Firefox when I had a smaller screen resolution....

I sometimes have trouble with the Thread Tools or Forum Tools not working. The box won't drop at all. I can usually solve this by navigating to another thread and then coming back. I assume it's a problem with a missing or corrupt javascript element.

You didn't say whether the Thread Tools or Search functions work properly, or if this rating issue only happens occasionally or all the time. As you can see below, all of them are in the same class of vbmenu_controls, so they ought to all behave the same way.

<td class="vbmenu_control" id="threadtools">
<a href="#goto_threadtools">Thread Tools</a>
<script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("threadtools"); </script>
</td>

<td class="vbmenu_control" id="threadsearch">
<a href="#goto_threadsearch">Search this Thread</a>
<script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("threadsearch"); </script>
</td>

<td class="vbmenu_control" id="threadrating">
<a href="#goto_threadrating">Rate Thread</a>
<script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("threadrating"); </script>
</td>

For me at least, the Thread Tools and the Search Functions don't work either.

What browser are you using?

Patra Caesar is using Netscape 7.2 (an AOL company), and it is no longer considered to be supported by many in the business world. It wouldn't surprise me a bit that Javascript failed on Netscape.

I'm using the latest Firefox. Not sure what number version that would be.
