Why am I always last?
No matter what the ranking is for the day, I'm last place. It's been this way for a month. Surely my nation can't suck that badly.

Being 36th in a Pacific is not bad for a month old nation. You must understand that many of the others play this game for more than a year now, and they will beat you, no matter what you try. You can only hope that they cease to exist, or that there comes a ranking where nation size doesn't matter. Even than, you'll have thousands of competitors. Believe me, 36th is not bad. I have nations which are almost 2 years old, and yet I never came higher than 1.700th in the world.

Listen, the best thing you can do is just keep making decision you thinka re best for your nation - working to build your economy and improving your landscape are good ideas.
You'll rank up quick enough,

I think you misread that, Carinthe.
But every time I click on the last page of the list, I'm shown at the bottom of it.
(yes, this is a newb question, but I'm only really starting to pay attention to rankings lately when I'm always shown at the bottom)
How do they actually determine the raunkings anyways? 'Cause once I got last for least crime per capita but I have no crime and I know I've seen nations where the crime is rampant.

Your relative rankings, in both your region and The World, are always visible on page 1 of the rankings. If you're not in the top ten, you will appear at the bottom of the list.
I'm not sure what you mean by clicking the last page and seeing your name. I don't see that for any of my nations in either region pages or the World page. Perhaps you could clarify where you are looking.

Y'know, sometimes it's good to be last. Do you really want to be in the top percentile for Most Corrupt Nations? Plus, you've got nice people, apparently.
But most importantly of all: you can't be at the top of everything. If you were, the NationStates code would just suddenly implode, and the very meaning of existance would be revealed, moments before being replaced by something even more bizzare.
