Site Not Working

I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, but currently the NationStates site won't even load for me, instead giving the good old "The page cannot be displayed" screen. There isn't even a pause, it just goes right to it.

Anyone know about this?

That brings up another odd question - pardon if it's been addressed here before.

Some folks can log in fine to the Jolt site in spite of the NS site being down, others can't. Is there a reason for that? One person I spoke with said he thought it had something to do with him changing passwords somewhere along the line. Shouldn't that cross over just fine, or shouldn't they be able to use the old password to get to the forums?

I can't get it either.

The only way I was able to log on to Jolt is thanks to "AutoComplete". I just type in 'forums.jolt' and my comp lets me choose where on Jolt to go.

Not sure about your problem though, Dread Lady.

Oh, thank god, I thought it was just my computer again. Maybe the site is being updated majorly or something.

Maybe those who can log in use the forum's log in service whereas the others stubbornly attempt access from the nationstates.net to the forums?

It has been suprisingly long time since NS went down the last time.
Salusa has been fixing NS the right way (or then the Jolt monkeys have finally realized that the NationStates ON/OFF switch shouldn't be turned to off when they go on a lunch break or something.)

No, these are folks who say Jolt won't let them log in on that site. No, not still trying through a broken page - trying from the Jolt forums site. Me, I've never had a problem with it, but I've known several who've had, and continue to have issues that way.

Granted, it has been a long time since we had a big bust like this, and yep, most likely fixin' stuff I'd think - especially since there seems to have been problems with Issues and all lately. Anyone else get their taxes nearly doubled when choosing the tax reduction option on a newer religion-based issue? Went from 33% to 60% overnight. DAMN was I ticked. Hope this is fixing all that.

Your forum password is the password you first created your nation with. Password changes in-game do not carry over to the forum.

Well thankfully it's working now.

Anyhow...I've never changed my password, and I can still access the forum through this link that I saved to my favorites: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1233&page=4&sort=postusername&order=desc&pp=25&daysprune=-1

My vanity, from looking at the things I had archived, saved me again...lol

That's not true. My password changes on my nation and the Jolt forums every time I change it at the NS site.

I have the same problem. The password that I use if I were to log into the forums is the first password that I ever had, but at nationstates.net, if I were to log in from there, is the most recent password that I have made.

Nah-ah. Try going to the front page and logging out, then try to log in with the changed password. Password changes don't translate from game to forum.
