Custom flags

I made a custom flag.. but it won't upload.. it says it is too large.. but the file size is under 10kb.. can someone tell me why this is ?

Your flag must be:
1. in JPEG (.jpg) format
2. about 107x71 pixels in size
3. no larger than 10KB
4. appropriate. This means conforming to site etiquette and being suitably flag-like. Images likely to cause widespread offense (e.g. nudity, swastikas) are prohibited, and your nation may be deleted if you post them.
Help any?
By the way.... Could I get some opinions on my own flag? (See my nation.) Thanks.

the dimensions are the same.. I used the other custom flag I had as the base for it.. so it's the right dimensions.. and it's under the max file size.. I just don't understand :P it follows all the rules..

it's ok... but this is a technical forum.. about bug fixes and etc. it's not to show off flags.. so iif you don't think you can help me.. i'd like it if you didn't post at all.

Anywho, sorry I couldn't help with the flag. Maybe there's a way to complain about it to a NationStates staff member or something. Other people may be experiencing your problem, too, but I dunno.

is your flag very close to 10k? there is something to do with the way it's stored or calculated or something on *nix that you have to actually make it a bit smaller.. I would try getting it down to 9.5kb or 9kb or so
edit: also is there any way we can see this flag, so we can test if we can upload it? (we being anybody who stops by)
