Arrgh! Name Change (not by choice)

[NS]Gawdly

My nation (Gawdly) had been receiving a message on login, stating I needed to give an email address or I would not be able to log on to the Jolt forums. This had never happened before, so I gave my email address, then clicked on the "validate" link once I had received my confirmation email.

Now, "Gawdly" with a post count of 1500+ has become [NS]Gawdly, with a post count of 1.

Can this be changed/reversed?? Am I even in the right place to get help on this??

Thanks,

The Artist formerly known as Gawdly

This is an unfortunate side-effect of some new code put in. Your original account was signed up in the brief period of time where you didn't have to supply an e-mail address to use the forums. So when you visited your settings page and put in a new e-mail address, for some reason it created a new Jolt forum account. (When there's already a forum account with the same name, it places [NS] in front of it.)
You should still be able to log into 'Gawdly' manually. If you visit http://forums.jolt.co.uk and log into it through there, it should all be working fine.

Thanks Myrth...maybe I need some more coffee, but the link you provided me brings me to the main page, but I cannot find anywhere that will allow me to log in manually. Ideas?

scroll down to the bottom of that page and click the "logout" link.

Then you should be able to login as Gawdly or any other nation of yours.

If I remove my email address and then put it back, would I be able to become [NS]YourWorstEnemy instead of imported_YourWorstEnemy?

Gawdly, if you post here with both Gawdly and [NS]Gawdly, I can merge them for you (under the name Gawdly).

YourWorstEnemeny, probably not. You'll most likely keep the name, and please don't try.

Thanks Salusa...but that sounds like WORK for you, and far be it for me to ask a volunteer to work even harder. I'll just keep using the work around...but many thanks for the offer.

Actually, it's work for Jolt, not for me, and they get paid.
