Are the forums faster?

Jolt's done some work on the forums (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/announcement.php?f=1231&announcementid=78) in order to make them faster (I think that there are now in excess of 10 gigaHertz powering the Jolt forums, but I don't know exactly) and they want to know how they are doing. So, if you'd let us know in this poll or by heading on over to the Jolt General Discussion Forum to tell Keith (the forum God) directly we'd really appreciate it.

Yes. Also, the text editor seemed slow before. There appeared to be a small lag when I hit the key that did not happen in other applications. The lag is still there, but it is greatly reduced, I think. Everything else seems generally faster, but not incredibly so.

Could just be the placebo effect, though, as I didn't notice the change until you pointed it out.

If it is faster (I'm not saying they're lying or anything stupid) it's unnoticable. Perhaps that has more to do with the fact that with my cable connection, they never were really slow for me in the first place.

Its slightly faster when I used dial-up (at my friend's house), but unchanged when I use it at home on my wireless...

Anyways, the changes have caused some log-in problems for me... *curses*

Not voting on this one until later in the evening. It usually is fast for me around now (as it is ATM), but gets hyperlaggy a bit later.

It's started to become a little laggy for me at the moment.

They're actually working a bit faster for me. :)

I'm on dial-up, so I can definitely notice a difference.

EDIT: Ok. So I lied. There were a lot of errors, like Kat said. It actually ended up going slower than usual...

I've noticed significant lag tonight, and many error messages.

At this current second (or rather about 20 min ago now. :headbang: ), they're slow. :p

But I have noticed the same thing 3 times now. When I first get on the forums, either from the game or directly, the first thread I open goes to an "invalid link specified" page. But when I refresh the page the topic comes up.

I haven't been here in a while, but damn if they're not slower than I remembered...

They're almost like the old NS forums before we got Jolt'ed.

I've seen no change. I am on DSL, if that matters. I wasn't on when others noticed problems.

I would agree they are faster. However, they tend to stop working at times. But so is NS. :(

I'm going to have to say slower. Last night at around the time Kat posted, the forums kept giving me error messages and the lag was INSANE - to the point where they basically stopped working all together.

I've noticed a significant change in speed. This is like, screaming fast compared to what it was before. Good work! :fluffle:

It seems to me that they are slower, usually it directly loads a page now it goes white for a second or so.

I've not noticed it being faster, but heaps of errors, and unlike before when an error occured it's universal (ie I often have a few posts open at once and previously if one errored, I could close it and refresh one of the others and carry on, now I have to close them all and log back in)...

An annoying aspect of this is when the error message pops up, it has a 'mail to' link that when clicked pops open my outlook, with no address in the 'To' box....I can see no purpose in a 'mail to' that doesnt tell your email client where to mail to....

The errors and such have been increased in frequency between today and yesterday. Has something been altered, or is it pure chance?

I would say it is a double edged sword in this case. Although it is faster, when it lags it is slow as h3ll. At times I just have to continue on something else and come back to it. I do not notice much of a difference between my 5mbit at home or the T1 here at work except for when it lags of course.

Lots. I get an error for between a fifth and a third of the times I click.
:(
Even more errors than yesterday...

I've only noticed a change in speed during non-peak hours, namely during the day between 2 PM EST, GMT -5, and 7 PM EST, GMT-5. Late at night, when the Aussies and Eastern Europeans wake up, I experience the same lag. Overall, though, even during the lag, it's faster.
