In addition to main site difficulties (posted to the appropriate thread elsewhere), I've been having difficulties with the forums. They seem to have developed a significant lag time over the past 2 weeks or so, and I:ve gotten timed out on several occassions in the past few days.

You aren't the only one who's having this problem. On IRC, while talking to everyone else, it's happening to them as well. Just letting you know, so that you don't think that its some technical problem with your computer...

You're not the only one. In the last 20 minutes I've had three timeouts and four database errors. And I had to go to the Jolt site to even get on the forums.

As much as I like Jolt, if this is a sign of things to come then we may want to start considering other options.

Exactly. It's getting almost as bad as the old site. (And the conspicuous lack of response from certain people is very frustrating.)

I left NS because of the old site.

Oh, a new difficulty: Logging in to a nation and clicking on the forum link doesn't mean it'll automatically log you in to the forum account anymore.

Yep I had to manually log-in to post this. Don't know about the other problems yet but that was annoying, since my JOLT log in PW was apparently different from my NS login and I had to manually reset the PW as well.

I am having problems too here in the forums for the last two weeks or so. I can get into NationStates but trying to get into the forums is a hit or miss proposition.

I have cable modem at home and get many 'server not found' messages, or just five plus minute periods where nothing comes up. I also, many times when I try and post, get messages that I am not logged in when it says at the top "Logged in as Tanara", and the "Welcome Tanara. You last visited..."

At work I am on a different os and every time I change threads, pages within a thread, or to post, get this box appearing: A Runtime Error has occured. Do you wish to debug? Line 279 ( or for posting it's line 277 ) Error: Unterminated string constant.

Yup, we've just done some forums work to improve the way that their behaving. It should work much better now. The login issue you described has been fixed. Also, I should note that forums2.jolt.co.uk is no longer valid. You must use forums.jolt.co.uk. This is what the game now uses.

Sorry, but nope. I am having increasing difficulties - I was unable to access the forums for about half an hour this afternoon.
