I have an idea to improve the game:

the game should allow nations to select a patron saint from a list of the most popular patron saints...of course also allow a government the option to not have one, but selecting a patron saint related to a specific area (i.e. patronizing other things related to that area) could help give the government a boost in that area...

I'm not catholic, so i don't know the saints well personally, but i thought it would be a relatively cool addition to the game

You could *try* to make this into an issue. But then I'm not sure an issue that consisted entirely of boosting options would be a viable issue.

Otherwise, I don't think this will ever be something added.

I can't see it happening, cos you'd have to put in all the saints, and there are a hell of a lot of them; but you'd also have to put in people from other religions, who dont have sainthood. So who decides who goes in and who doesn't? This would be too much work, and it would be hard to avoid offending people.

This seems like the sort of idea that is better RolePlayed than anything else, besides, as Admin have said they ain't adding anything new, I really really really really really really really doubt it'll be added.

Though, admittidly, I thnk the idea has some charm to it..

It's an original idea, but I remember the admins said the NS code won't be changed anymore. Unless a really big bug or some kind of security leak pops up'.

Similar ideas have come up, such as title of national leader, name of national leader, capital city, etc... they've all been refused. The mods have enough trouble with people who abuse National Animal, Currency, and Nation Title.

This isn't happening. Not only because it is a decidedly new feature (which we aren't adding for the most part) but also because it is only useful to the nations that are officially Christian (the minority I believe) and of little use to those who aren't Catholic.

This might make a good issue for those nations that have chosen the Catholic spiritual advisor, but the choices would have to be limited. I suggest you work on some ideas and post them in the Got Issues Forum.
