I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about this, but I'm not used to having problems with nationstates. I've been trying to log onto NationStates today, and everytime that I try to, it says my connection has been refused while trying to connect. I've tried using both IE and Mozilla Firefox, and neither one will load up. I can log into all other websites, so I was just curious as to if its a local problem, and someone could give me some advice on how to fix the problem, or if there is something going on that I'm not aware of.

Thanks for any help

That means my company hasn't blocked access through the firewall.

Reminds me...must find public proxy sites...

Just trying to add more info.I think we've pretty well established that the Nationstates webpage is down. The forums are on a separate server, which is why we can access them.

It isn't the first time. I'm hoping it's just routine maintenance, it seems to have a lot of bugs lateley.

Well, if nationstates.net is down, I would assume thirdgeek (nseconomy) wouldn't be able to draw from the xml feed, and would say your nation is non existant.

ThirdGeek gets its nation information via an XML data feed. Guess where it gets it from? If the NS server goes down, TG can't get at it any more than you or I can.

Correct.

Third-party websites that pull data from NationStates will not be able to get data from your nation.

As for NS being down, I will contact the Admins shortly.

I don't want multiple threads on this. iLock.
