From time to time I hear people mention an economic level of +Frightening existing however I have never seen such a level. I was wondering if it even exists or it is just another dumb rumor.

Seeing how he has a Frightening economy, I believe he is asking if there is anything above that, in which case I would say there isn't. I believe it is nothing more than rumors. Largent, do you have a link to anyone claiming that?

An exact link, no, but from time to time I will see it mentioned, although rarely. For example, there was a thread that someone posted over a year ago with all the levels of economies, civil rights, and political freedoms. This list contained the level +Frightening which some didn't believe in others did. I haven't been able to find the thread, but I'll continue my search. Also, on one NS economy calculator it asks you economy. It has the option +Frightening. It seemed odd and I posted this thread. I'll get you that link in just a moment.

Oops. I had not noticed the '+'

Well, the highest ranking in the game is Frightening. If players (and calculator makers) want to claim a higher setting, I guess they can knock their socks off. I doubt many players will accept it. Kind of like some people who have claimed populations much larger than what the game displays.
